Critterized

Critterized started as a hobby born from a love and obsession for all things rattie and as a creative outlet. After both my kids and I were diagnosed as being autistic, I worked out that this is referred to as an autistic special interest or SPIN. For our family rats are more than pets or therapy/support animals, they are our best friends.

I have owned rats and mice for most of my life, and while I am far from an expert in all things Rattie,  I am happy to share any and all of my knowledge with anyone interested, but please keep in mind these are my opinions and experiences.

 I was always looking for new and creative ways to express all of our personalities. After searching everywhere for good quality rat bedding for my fur babies that would suit their personalities and my budget, so I decided to create my own. The only problem was that I hadn't used a sewing machine since that one term of home economics in high school many moons ago. So, I went out and bought a cheap sewing machine, some cute fabrics and I used some cereal boxes to make up some patterns, and I got to work. I was so proud of what I had created so I shared some pics on Facebook and out of nowhere people started asking how much it would cost to make some for them.

Our Rattery is currently closed, however, I am a strong believer in only breeding healthy happy fur babies for loving homes to adopt. Here is a list of our ratteries DOs and DON'Ts

• We DON'T breed on demand, we breed for our own wants and needs in order to reach/create healthy and happy lines
• We DO however take expressions of interest for any lines we may be working on, if you are interested in waiting for a particular colour or marking feel free to ask to be put on one of my waiting lists, and I will contact you when one becomes available
• We DONT sell to pet shops and we don't sell aggressive rats.
