Over the years of owning rats I have gathered quiet a bit of information. Some of it has been useful and some of it is only good for a laugh.

Now I'm far from an expert and don't claim to be either, so this information is based on experience, research and asking the right people the right questions. In saying that, there are a lot of opinions, myths, do's and don'ts out there, especially on the internet. Unfortunately, when researching, most people tend to forget to factor in that just because it's okay, right, or commonly done in one place, doesn't mean it will be in another. If you live in Australia and you read info from a site in the USA, a lot of the info won't apply due to differences in conditions and types of Rats. If you are in Australia there are plenty of places such as Facebook groups to source info and meet a heap of other pet rat owners and breeders, but there are lots of other forums and website such as this one out their.

As I said above I'm no expert, just a crazy rat lady, and the best part about rats is there is always something new to learn or be proven right or wrong about them.
